Pennyweight Beechworth Chardonnay 2024 showcases the best of Beechworth cool-climate finesse.
Crafted from fruit sourced from legacy vineyards in Beechworth’s classic Ordovician soils (mudstone, shale, granite), the Chardonnay is hand-picked, basket-pressed, and fermented on full lees. It sees maturation in a mix of large-format oak foudres and French barriques, some new, ensuring rich structure while preserving fresh fruit integrity.
Rich aromas of white peach, nectarine, melon, and green apple roll into a layered palate, think stone fruit over creamy lees with nuances of flint, nougat, ginger biscuit, and subtle honey. Medium-bodied, finely balanced, and textured, the finish is long and gently spiced.
