So far with the 2024 Pooley Pinot Noir wines it’s every egg a bird. Wonderful. This vineyard was established in 1985 to clones 115, Pommard, Abel, 2051, though maybe some of those clones were planted later on. Dark cherry, violet, baking spice, an earthy very ‘mineral’ thing is apparent to smell, and to taste, and in particular the graphite tannin is something of a highlight. It’s dark and spicy, firm and well-structured, but also sports quite some perfume and a sort of dark raspberry and orange succulence. The finish is stony and long. Here’s a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir. 96 Points Gary Walsh, THE WINE FRONT
