This is good/great now but it’s only going to get better. It has terrific power, and presence. Pure stonefruit, some meal-like notes, cedarwood oak as a complement, whispers of both fragrant herbs and smoked bacon. There’s texture here, appreciable texture, yet its slung with acidity and the carry that goes with it. The chardonnays of Pooley deserve a stint in a decanter prior to serving; both the 2021 releases are classic examples. The take-home though is that you cannot go wrong with the Pooley chardonnay out of 2021. 95+ Points Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
