Fruit sourced from Captains Creek vineyard, certified organic and sustainable (NASAA Registration No. 3082). The vineyard was established in 1994 as part of a larger, permaculture farm in Blampied. The May family have owned and run the farm for more than a century. The vineyard sits at 500m ASL on red loam soils, similar to Lusatia Park. Hand picked fruit was whole-bunch pressed into one foudre for wild yeast ferment and left to sit, on lees, for 12 months with a further four months in tank to settle. The 2024 is a unique expression, with Meyer lemon, white stonefruit and serious structure. The extra aging helped integrate the wine. Winery Notes
