I smelt this and thought, gee that’s like a Circe pinot noir. And as it turns out, it comes off that vineyard – but, of course, 40% whole bunches are the dead giveaway. You have to dig that distinct twiggy, earthy, stemmy character because it’s very much a personality giver here, imparting a delicious Italian bitter herbs/Campari/chinotto character. Also, full of red and morello cherries with pips, stewed rhubarb and cardamom. Distinctively shaped tannins, a little sinewy and textural, and the blood orange-like acidity a total palate freshener. 95 Points Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion
