A GlenDronach from the 1993 vintage, aged 27 years in Pedro Ximénez sherry Puncheon casks. This is a richly sherried single malt with dark fruit depth, cacao, and toffee, complemented by baking spice and oak. A refined, collector-grade dram that showcases the spectrum of GlenDronach’s PX maturation.
Tasting notes
- Nose: Dried dark fruits (figs, raisins, dates), plum and cherry, with cocoa, molasses, and toffee; orange zest and gentle spice in the background.
- Palate: Full-bodied and velvety; prunes and dark cherries, espresso-like chocolate, caramel/toffee, braided with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of clove; oak underpinning.
- Finish: Long and warming; lingering fruit sweetness fades to spice and leather, with a final echo of oak.
