The Lakes The Chocolatier Limited Edition is a sherry-led single malt crafted by Sarah Burgess, former Macallan Lead Whiskymaker, marking her final release with the distillery. Matured in a combination of European and American oak sherry casks with a small proportion of ex-bourbon influence, and finished in ex-sherry casks, this whisky showcases The Lakes’ signature élevage process, layering complexity through multi-cask maturation.

Colour: Tawny
Nose: Indulgent sherry influence builds into chocolate and ginger biscuit, with cocoa, white peach and brandy snap notes
Palate: Decadent dried fruits, spiced hot chocolate and rich vanilla, developing into dark chocolate and stone fruit
Finish: Lingering cocoa finish
About the Distillery
The Lakes Distillery, founded in 2011 in England’s Lake District, is known for its innovative élevage approach to whisky maturation. Inspired by Cognac techniques, the distillery layers flavour through multiple cask interactions, creating complex, sherry-driven single malts that have gained global recognition.
