The Other Wine Co Sangiovese is a bright, fresh, simple and satisfying red. It has cherry and a touch of salami to it. The palate is juicy, bold, and vibrant. Easy to drink and easily chillable, this is quite a versatile wine.
The Other Wine Co. was started in 2015 by the team at Shaw + Smith (and MMAD). This label allows the team to be experimental with varieties, regions and winemaking styles which are not core to the other two labels. These wines are quaffable, affordable and generous of flavour. This range spans wines that have general appeal, such as Sangiovese, Barbera and Pinot Gris and more niche drinks like Arinto, and flor-fermented Savagnin.

"Aged in larger oak barrels. This works well. It has grip and minerality, bright red berry fruitiness, peppery spice notes, a bit of ferrous earthiness and sits at just on medium weight. It feels like sangiovese from the dictionary should – leans into its more refreshing side and delivers on that promise for those seeking vibrant reds. Easy to like."
Sangiovese
Widely cultivated across Italy from Emilia-Romagna to Campania and producing as much wine as Barbera Low colour, light body, savoury, dry tannin and fair acid. When it grows in the right sites, the fruit power is amazing too. A wide range of clones and hugely diverse growing conditions see the variety represent easy drinking ‘quaffers’, all the way to benchmarks such as Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti, Sangiovese di Romagna and Morellino di Scansano.
