A long, seamless and polished cabernet with some of the rusticity often seen in South African cabernet. Its deep, faintly meaty aromas of dark berries, plums and cedar/cigarboxy oak precedes a smooth core of cassis and red berry flavour supported by fine, tight-grained tannins. The wine takes a long time to breathe and to shed some reductive aspects – so I suggest double-decanting in its youth. Having watched it closely over a few days I have seen it steadily reveal its true purity and expression. It has the balance and structure to age gracefully.
