Yangarra Circle Shiraz is a classic. From the higher reaches of Blewitt Springs it has all of the elegance and perfume you'd associate with those sandy soils. Showing juicy, ripe red and blue berries, spice and lovely richness, this is the wine you're looking for to scractch that warm climate Shiraz itch.
Yangarra is one vineyard of 100 hectares broken into 35 blocks. Almost exclusively planted to the varieties of the Rhone Valley; in particular the Southern Rhone. But new plantings of Spanish grapes are underway. The core of the Yangarra offering is old, bush vines of Grenache. All the vines are certified organic and biodynamic. Their efforts are working as not only are the wines amazing, but James Halliday awarded Yangarra wine of the year in the 2020 Companion.

"All estate fruit, destemmed and fermented in steel; 11 months in older French puncheons and foudre. This is made to be approachable, a wine ready to go. And it is, and delightfully so. Medium weighted, with subtly blue-tinged florals and seasoned with warm spices: tart boysenberry, dark cherry, red plum, blueberry. It’s an effortless little number, all serene glide on the palate, though with house signature tannic detail, if dialled down for the intended purpose. Lovely."
